15. The Great Lakes Science Center

With spring break right around the corner there are probably a lot of people are looking for a place nearby to take the kids.  You have probably seen The Great Lakes Science Center used as a backdrop when watching the Browns, Cavs or Indians play and you probably know that they have a lot of cool shows at the OMNIMAX theatre but have you ever really stopped to check it out?  There is really nothing like being immersed in a six story high theatre with 11,600 watts of surround sound.  You actually feel like you are in the movie, EPCOT has nothing on this place!  Right now they are showing two different movies, one on the Hubble telescope and another on Sea Monsters, both of these films are incredible and you don’t need to go to Florida or California to see them.

The Great Lakes Science Center also has rotating exhibits that change frequently so you will never have to say “I’ve been there before”. They are also running some summer camps and a spring break camp that you can get your kids into to help encourage them to become excited about learning (you will learn a thing or two as well)

The Great Lakes Science Center is truly a unique part of the city that we should all be proud of, stop down and check it out!

They are open every day 10am to 5pm (closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day)
